Chemical Filling Solutions

Chemical products vary considerably in their filling requirements. They range from low-viscosity cleaners, solvents, and certain inks to viscous pastes and industrial chemicals that may be corrosive, volatile, or contain particulates.

These differences affect the choice of filling method, product-contact materials, and sealing configuration. A machine designed for an acidic liquid, for example, may require a very different setup from one handling a high-viscosity paste. Filling equipment should therefore be configured around the properties of the chemical, packaging format, and production requirements rather than relying on a single standard solution.

Npack designs and manufactures fully automatic liquid filling equipment and packaging systems for chemical applications. Equipment can be configured for packaging ranging from plastic bottles and jars to pails, buckets, drums, and IBC totes, depending on the product and production requirements.

Filling Technologies for Different Chemical Products
Piston Filling

Piston filling is suited to medium- and high-viscosity products such as cleaners, detergents, fabric softeners, and paste-like chemicals. Volumetric piston metering provides accurate, consistent filling.

Gravity Filling

For low-viscosity, free-flowing corrosive liquids, such as bleach, floor cleaner, and other cleaning liquids, gravity filling uses timed control to regulate the fill. This approach can also help reduce foaming, splashing, and overflow.

Overflow Filling

Overflow filling works well with low- to medium-viscosity liquids that tend to foam and require a consistent fill level, Excess product is returned during filling, helping maintain a uniform liquid level while reducing waste.

Gear Pump Filling

For medium-viscosity, free-flowing liquids, including creams and pastes, a gear pump driven by an independent servo motor provides controlled product transfer and precise flow adjustment. The system can accommodate a broad range of filling volumes for different package sizes.

Net Weight Filling

Net weight filling measures the product by weight rather than volume. It is suitable for chemicals requiring accurate dosing or products whose density may vary, particularly for larger-volume packaging.

Peristaltic Pump Filling

Peristaltic pump filling is intended for small-volume, low-viscosity liquids such as CBD oil, reagents, and fragrances. Because the product travels through food-grade tubing, it avoids contact with the pumping mechanism, helping reduce the risk of contamination. Servo control and a touchscreen interface allow the filling speed to be adjusted to suit different production requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our equipment is CE marked and RoHS compliant, in line with the safety and environmental compliance information provided for the equipment.

For standard applications, 304 stainless steel is the standard material. For acids, alkalis, and highly corrosive chemicals, materials such as 316L stainless steel, PP, or PVC can be selected according to the properties of the product to help prevent corrosion and leakage.
